L'Empire des Legumes

While looking around on Panteek, I came upon this charming book of illustrations from 1840 ~ Empire of Vegetables by Amedee Varin. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find out much about the book and its contents ~ I translated several of the titles, but wonder if there is some sort of story that was not included. I guess if I dig up $4,500 I could satisfy my curiosity ~ for now, here are a few of my favorites ~ see the rest here:
