Seeing Things Differently

INSPIRATION 2014 #65: This image really speaks to me ~ what a clever way to utilize old photos and vintage glasses! Unfortunately, the source link leads to an etsy store where there is no record of the piece, so no additional information is available. While I have a good stash of my own glasses, they are from the 70's and 80's, so not a style that resonates with me ~ guess this means I have another thing to keep an eye out for at flea markets!

On My Wish List

INSPIRATION 2014 #51: Wouldn't you just love a machine that could print wrapping paper with your own designs? I know I would ~ then again, I would be just as happy if there was a machine available somewhere nearby (perhaps Target since this looks like it is already designed for their store!).

This machine is even better than just a wrapping paper printer for several reasons. From what I could tell, it is free to use, it recycles newspaper and prints with designs so it can be used for wrapping paper. The ad agency Saatchi and Saatchi installed this machine in a shopping center in order to generate interest in conservation and recycling during the Lunar New Year ~ a time during which lots of wrapping paper is used in Hong Kong.

Inventive Repurposing

INSPIRATION 2014 #49: Still in the organization mode, so I thought I would share a great way to make use of commercial baking pans ~ turn on its side and use as shelves! This image is from oh albatross on Etsy ~ unfortunately, it has already been sold, so you will have to find another.

I have been collecting these since I first discovered one at a flea market ~ I found that the 'shelves' on the one I first purchased were the perfect size for spice bottles, so I mounted it on the kitchen wall and used it as a spice rack. As I no longer have any wall space available, I use the others as displays in craft shows ~ these are great for showcasing scarves, bangles or just about anything. Actually, maybe I should rearrange and create a whole wall covered with these ~ I have quite a number of them in all different sizes.

Spectacular Chandelier

INSPIRATION 2014 #29:  Pun intended ~ this chandelier is made of a zillion pairs of spectacles! What a great way to utilize old glasses ~ I think this would look even more interesting if antique spectacles were used on a handmade wire base. Can't tell if it lights up or not, but would be an added bonus.
