Beautiful Crissy ~ The Doll with the Beautiful Hair
This is where it all began . . . Christmas 1969 (or 70?) . . . my fascination with hair! Although I don't remember specifically which Christmas I received Beautiful Chrissy, I do remember it was one of my favorite gifts ~ mine looked just like the one above. I was never too interested in dolls as a child, but the Crissy doll was an exception ~ just because of the hair. I remember being disappointed when I found out that there wasn't an endless source of hair coiled up in her stomach ~ I guess it just never occurred to me that her hair just didn't keep growing. I'm kind of surprised I didn't end up as a hair stylist ~ take a look at the commercial ~ what girl could resist?!! She's just Beeeuuutiful!!
OMG, I remember Beautiful Crissy! I was more into Liddle Kiddles, do you remember them? I got a Shrinking Violet for my birthday, and loved her so much. She had lavender hair.
I DO remember Little Kiddles, Mitzi! I must have had the same doll you had ~ she came in a perfume bottle and smelled like violets too! I also had this giant pendant and a ring ~ both with dolls that fit inside. Maybe I was more of a doll person than I think?! I had forgotten about the Little Kiddles ~ thanks for the reminder!

I was not that into dolls either--but I did love my Crissy doll!
And Giggles--remember her? You held both of her arms and moved them in an up and down motion and she giggled away....
I remember my grandmother making little quilts for them with the leftover flannel from our christmas pyjamas that she made us...memories...
